Dins Castle Dining RoomCooks & Co are based in Peebles in the Scottish Borders. They regularly cater for events in the Borders as well as in Edinburgh and Glasgow for a mixture of both private and corporate clients. As well as this they cater for weddings in a range of settings from Dome tents to Castles, which can be seen on our Venues page.

Cooks & Co was established about 20 years ago by Michael Muir.  Following his retirement in 2015 the business was taken over by Rachael McQuaid and Alison Watts who have worked alongside Michael for a number of years.



Who we are

Rachael McQuaid

Rachael has extensive experience as a chef having spent time with Gary Rhodes at the Greenhouse in London then moving to Bibendum and working with Simon Hopkinson followed by 2 Star Michelin restaurant, The Square.  After moving to Scotland and having a family Rachael first worked for Michael in his Delicatessen and then joined the outside catering company 15 years ago.

Alison Watts

Alison has extensive experience working for private clients as a freelance chef and first met Michael when she provided produce for him to sell in his Delicatessen. After having a family she worked part time at a local children’s nursery and set up a new scheme to provide healthy home cooked meals complying with Government nutritional guidelines, the first of its kind in the Borders.   

What we do

A delicious starter from Cooks & CoCooks & Co have a number of Corporate clients for whom we provide a range of services. These include board room lunches, canape receptions and formal dinners as well as finger buffets and sandwich lunches.

We are also experienced at catering for private lunches and dinners, as well as drinks parties, weddings, christenings, anniversaries and funerals.

We cater in a variety of settings including city offices, libraries, private houses, castles, marquees and geodomes.  We have access to a wine supplier and an equipment supplier covering all occasions and requirements.

Each of our events is individually tailored to the client’s requirements depending upon the location, season, budget and occasion.  Please look at the venues page for examples of events we have recently catered for.
